American Conference for Diversity

As an assistant coordinator for the Lead for Diversity Camp, I advise and train group facilitators and advisors on how to more effectively work with and counsel high school students on issues of social justice. I also co-developed and implemented the Common Ground Institute, a social justice training camp that supports the personal and professional development of non-profit administrators, educators, social service providers, and diversity and inclusion officers. In both projects, I supported in creating and facilitating workshops and trainings.

California State University

I co-developed the program curriculum and led workshops for the University’s first two mens’ retreats, designed for male college students and staff to explore societal expectations and roles in order to identify and develop healthy concepts of masculinity.

City University of New York

I implemented social justice trainings and workshops for the staff of the City University of New York to influence their educational approaches and support their students. I also co-founded a Social Justice Taskforce at LaGuardia Community College to develop a curriculum with a social justice focus.

Filipino American National Historical Society

I created and facilitated a workshop called Why #BlackLivesMatter to Filipino Americans. Participants discussed the construction of race in America and their place within it, examined their own biases to become better allies, and identified ways to work towards ending anti-Black racism.

Boricua College

I designed and taught a sociology class for undergraduates. The curriculum involved readings, discussion, and activities focused on race, class, gender, and sexual orientation in the United States.

Cultural Caravan for Peace and Solidarity

I developed a curriculum and trained volunteers on implementing a mural project in Ecuador and Colombia.

Sumisibol

I founded and directed a non-profit organization dedicated to the leadership development of high school youth. The organization engaged youth participants in educational activities, conferences, and arts-based activities that culminated in community projects.
